Our Mission
At Resilient Spirit Counseling, our mission is to provide hope and empowerment to all of our clients and their families. We provide evidenced based services to support those struggling with eating disorders, OCD, and other anxiety disorders so they can find healing. Our clients learn many tools and techniques so that they can continue their recovery journey outside of the therapeutic space.
Samantha McKenzie, LISW-CP
Did you know the therapeutic relationship can be one of the best predictors of positive treatment outcomes? My role as your therapist is to help you find deeper meaning and understanding. Together, we look at the how and why behind your patterns — not with judgment, but with curiosity and compassion. Many of the behaviors you’re struggling with once helped you get through difficult or overwhelming moments. If they were easy to stop, you would have done that already.
Living with anxiety, OCD, or eating struggles is real, and it’s not something you chose. The work can be challenging at times, but there is hope — and you don’t have to do it alone.
I help clients make sense of their patterns and understand why certain behaviors show up in their lives. We move at a pace that feels manageable, gently working toward change in ways that feel supportive rather than overwhelming. Your story is unique, and therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — we’ll work together to help you move toward your goals and create a life that feels more fulfilling to you.
Along the way, we’ll also work on softening perfectionism and quieting that inner critic, building more self-compassion as we go. Therapy can feel messy and feel uncomfortable, but often that’s when healing and growth happen.
If you’re feeling unsure, scared, or vulnerable about making changes, that makes sense. It’s hard to let go of things that once helped you feel safe, even when they’re no longer serving you. Recovery is possible, and it’s possible to build a life that aligns with your values.
